On March 21st, 2013, Medica organized an official opening and blessing of water at the newly constructed section for liquid dosage forms of the company – PHARMA 2. The opening ceremony was attended by the MB of Medica, the Supervisory Board members, representatives of the construction company contractor under the project, Deputy Mayor of Sandanski and others.
The Company has invested about 2 million BGN own funds in the project, and its construction began on July 12th, 2012, when the first sod was turned.
The design and construction of the facility is in compliance with Directive 2003/94/EC on the principles of the Good Manufacturing Practice.
The new acquisition of Medica is a production area to PHARMAMEDICA tableting workshop, where non-sterile liquid pharmaceutical forms for external use and special dressings will be manufactured.
The construction of PHARMA 2 will enable Medica to position on the market products that do not have any Bulgarian analogue and thus to fill an existing niche market, following the latest trends of development in the sector. The product range will be expanded with new medical devices of higher class, medicated shampoos and medicines, specialized in the treatment of wounds and specific skin problems.
The products are focused not only on the internal, both pharmacy and hospital, market, but also on export to the traditionally strong for Medica markets. Annually, more than one million bottles of shampoos with curative effect will be sent to the markets in over 10 countries.
