On 3 December 2015 was the official opening and inauguration of the new laboratory unit and reconstructed production plant for medical devices at the Medica Works.
The opening ribbon was cut by Mr. Ognian Donev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Medica, Mr. Stoycho Pangev, Executive Director of Medica and Mr. Kiril Kotev, Mayor of Sandanski.
The project for building a laboratory unit started at the end of April 2015 and its aim was to increase the areas of the chemical and microbiological laboratories, to make it possible to place new equipment, to provide sufficient workspace and its effective use, to comply with the GLP requirements and other needs important for the work of the quality control. The reconstruction and modernisation of Evromed production plant for medical devices started at the same time. The aim of the reconstruction was optimisation of technological processes, placement of new equipment in order to enrich the product portfolio of medical devices, as well as achievement of compliance with the requirements of certifying authorities.
